Nature creates the setting. Birds provide the music. The Art Farm is a living project set in the hills of the Ardeche region of the South of France. Created by Johnny Grant, a sax player, comedian and performer. After 15 years travelling around every major US city and throughout Canada he was requested to give assistance from musicians and artists interested in visiting Europe. Being born in the UK and finally setting down roots in France he begun his life long passion of the Art Farm project. For the last 4 years people have visited from around the globe. Neither a permaculture site or a fully restored retreat center it has a style all of its own. Kind of like Johnny Grant. The rooms and projects change each week. Each area is being lovingly restored to house workshops and visiting artists. Some come simply to visit the project and others come with an interest to stay awhile. This is a magical place, a bubble of light radiating and growing with each person who comes and contributes their own individual essence. It is transitional eco-community where artists, musician, designers, dancers, natural builders, eco-warriors, permaculturists, poets, spiritual healers and soul seekers come together to create an inspirational space of love. It is set amongst the amazing landscapes of the Ardeche region with 250 year old Granite buildings being transformed using all natural building materials. We also practice sustainable living and self-sufficiency so you may be pushed out of your comfort zone, but the things your learn here will stick with you forever, some have even said their experience here has changed their life. Above all we want you to come and let your true self shine through and if you don't know what that is yet this place will help you discover that deep authentic self that everyone is searching for. At the heart of the Art Farm are the 250 year old Granite buildings being transformed using all natural building materials. The furniture is made from materials found in the local area. Antique objects restored and brought back to life. The Art Farm centre plays host to many workshops. Just off the beaten track half way between Privas and Aubenas. Take the road to La Prade from the Col De L'Escrinet. Taxi ride from Privas takes 15 minutes. No need to book just come along. |
